Buda Castle
(Hungarian: Budavári Palota, German: Burgpalast, Turkish: Budin Kalesi) is the historical castle and palace complex of the Hungarian kings in Budapest, and was first completed in 1265. In the past, it has been called Royal Palace (Hungarian: Királyi-palota) and Royal Castle (Hungarian: Királyi Vár, German: Königliche Burg). The castle
a part of the Budapest World Heritage Site, which was declared a Heritage Site in 1987. Besides the monuments,
you get a breathtaking panorama of the Danube with the Chain Bridge and the Pest side of the city on the opposite side of the river. Buda Castle
and its many courtyards host several festivals and events all over the year including an international wine festival, a beer festival, and a folk art festival. |
